Box of Cards.

It began with wanting to send a personalised birthday present to my friend Emily in Washington DC. I had a lovely gift box from the Tiny Box Company which fitted exactly the card stock 6”x6” I had been using for Sunny Bank Mills Gallery cards. It arrived safely with its content of ten different cards. She gave it the thumbs up. That was just before our first UK lockdown and the start of the discontinuation of normal life for the coming year. Would others like to get a box of cards? After all, even going out to buy a card for someone was not something that could be taken for granted any longer. So boxes were made and sent to family and friends in Australia, Canada, United States, Wales and disparate parts of the UK. They arrived to surprise the recipient, and there were gratifying expressions of enjoyment, declarations of intent to keep some of them rather than sending them all on, and even a card nicely framed and sitting discreetly in a hallway in Llanrwst. My best intentions were to make people I loved pleased to get a surprise package in these strange dislocated times, and hopefully to spread a small bit of my art around.
