Original grandkids designs

These small cards are designs taken from my own grandchildren’s drawings and from searches online for styles and types of representation at different ages in childhood. Children’s drawings often appeal to adult attention with a startling immediacy. Picasso famously said “it took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.” He also said “All children are artists, the problem is how to remain an artist once they grow up”

Children’s drawings have a fresh spontaneity, novelty and an emotional impact that delights. With so much global gloom, I wanted to follow up the Covid project with a bit more lightness and joy, making cards so that people could enjoy passing some of this on
